Contact & International Patient Support

Consultation, Surgery Planning, and Ongoing Care for Lymphedema Patients Worldwide

【A Message From Lymphedema Clinic Tokyo】

Living with lymphedema often brings questions and uncertainty.

If you are considering care abroad, it is natural to feel cautious or unsure.

Our role is not to rush your decision or promise outcomes.

We begin by listening, understanding your situation, and sharing clear information based on medical experience.

Whether or not you choose to proceed,

we hope this first contact helps you feel supported and respected as you consider your next step.

【Thoughtful Guidance for Patients Considering Lymphedema Care in Japan】

Choosing to seek medical care abroad is a significant and deeply personal decision.

For patients living with lymphedema, this decision often comes after years of uncertainty, limited options, and unanswered questions.

At our clinic in Tokyo, we are committed to providing clear, compassionate, and carefully coordinated support for international patients at every stage—from the first inquiry to your return home.

【Dedicated Support for International Patients】

All communication and coordination for our international patients are managed in collaboration with Emergency Assistance Japan (EAJ), a highly experienced medical assistance organization.

EAJ serves as a single point of contact, helping to ensure:

Smooth communication before and after consultation

Coordination of appointments and scheduling

Language support and interpretation services

A safe and well-organized medical experience in Japan

This structure allows you and your family to focus on understanding your condition and treatment options with peace of mind.

【Initial Online Consultation (60–90 minutes)】

The first step in our care process is an online medical consultation (JPY 50,000, 60–90 minutes).

During this session, we carefully review:

Lymphoscintigraphy results

Lower-limb venous ultrasound findings

Blood test results and other relevant medical records

Based on this information, we discuss your current condition and propose a treatment strategy tailored specifically to you.

This consultation is designed to help you understand whether treatment at our clinic may be appropriate, without pressure or obligation.

【Professional Medical Interpretation You Can Trust】

For English-speaking patients, interpretation is provided by medical interpreters who have direct experience supporting LVA surgery at our clinic.

This allows patients and their families to communicate comfortably and confidently during consultations.

For languages other than English, EAJ arranges experienced medical interpreters as needed.

To date, we have supported patients with interpretation in Arabic, French, Chinese, and other languages, always prioritizing clarity and reassurance.

【Personalized, Goal-Oriented Treatment Planning】

We believe that lymphedema care should never be “one-size-fits-all.”

When proposing treatment, we carefully consider:

Your medical condition and disease stage

Your personal goals and daily challenges

Your living environment, lifestyle, and activities

Your values, priorities, and long-term outlook

Our goal is to design customized treatment plans that align with your life—not just your diagnosis.

【Collaboration With Your Local Medical Team】

Whenever possible, we actively collaborate with:

Therapists

Physicians

Medical teams involved in your care in your home country

This ensures continuity of care and helps you maintain stability and confidence after returning home.

【Safe Travel, Surgery, and Return Home】

Our hope is that you can:

Travel to Japan with confidence

Receive treatment in a safe and supportive environment

Return home smoothly

Continue an active, fulfilling life without being dominated by lymphedema

Patients from more than 20 countries across Europe, North America, and Asia have traveled to our clinic, and all have returned home safely.

A typical stay in Japan is approximately 10–14 days, depending on the treatment plan.

【Ongoing Support After You Return Home】

Your care does not end when you leave Japan.

After your online consultation, and even after LVA surgery and your return home, you are always welcome to contact us by email with any concerns or questions.

We remain available to support you as a specialized lymphedema care center.

Our team has:

Performed over 4,000 LVA surgeries for lymphedema patients

Treated many more patients with conservative therapy

Published over 100 peer-reviewed international medical journal articles on lymphedema

All treatment recommendations are based on the latest scientific evidence.

【Our Treatment Philosophy】

Our guiding principle is simple:

to recommend treatments that are as safe as possible and supported by evidence.

We do not propose treatments that carry excessive risk or may cause unnecessary physical or emotional harm.

Your long-term well-being always comes first.

【Supporting an Active Life—Now and in the Future】

Our team’s shared goal is to support you in living an active life—

walking on your own legs, staying engaged, and enjoying daily activities well into the future.

Lymphedema care has advanced dramatically over the past 20 years, and progress continues.

As new, safe, and effective treatments emerge, we remain committed to sharing relevant options with you—

even after your consultation or surgery, and even after you have returned home.

【We Are Here to Help You Take the Next Step】

If you are considering consultation or would like to know whether evaluation at our clinic may be appropriate for you,

please feel free to contact us through EAJ.

We would be honored to support you with careful evaluation, honest guidance, and long-term partnership.
